Do not use if printed band around cap is missing or broken. Do not use if cap ring is broken or missing. Discard unused portion. Use pediatric electrolyte rather than juices, sport drinks, soft drinks or water to restore essential fluids/body water, electrolytes and minerals lost through diarrhea, vomiting, heavy sweating which can be caused by fever, hot or dry environment, strenuous, vigorous or prolonged exercise. DIRECTIONS: Ready to use, do not dilute. Best when served cold. Refrigerate after opening and use within 48 hours. Do not re-use container. RECOMMENDED DOSE: Dehydration associated with vomiting and diarrhea: Children should be given small, frequent and slowly administered amounts. Dosage depends on body weight. Under 2 years: Use only on the advice of a physician. 2 to 11 years: At first sign of diarrhea and/or vomiting, 50 to 100 mL per kg (2.2 lbs) of body weight over 3 to 4 hours. While diarrhea and/or vomiting continues, take 120 mL for every additional episode. Maximum amount per hour: 1 litre. 12 years and over: At first signs of diarrhea and/or vomiting, 50 to 100 ml. per kg (2.2 lbs) of body weight over 4 to 6 hours. While diarrhea and/or vomiting continues, take 200 mL for every additional episode. Maximum amount per hour: 1 litre. Dehydration associated with heavy sweating due to fever, hot or dry environment: Children 4 to 9 years: Drink as needed. Do not exceed 1 litre per day. Dehydration associated with heavy sweating due to fever, hot or dry environment, strenuous/vigorous or prolonged exercise: Children 10 years and over and adults: Drink as needed. Do not exceed 2 litres per day. MEDICINAL INGREDIENTS (per litre or 4 cups): Chloride (35 mEq); Citrate (30 mEq); Dextrose (20 g); Fructose (5 g); Potassium (20 mEq); Sodium (45 mEq). SOURCES OF MEDICINAL INGREDIENTS: Dextrose, Fructose, Potassium Citrate, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Citrate. NON-MEDICINAL INGREDIENTS: Acesulfame-K, Citric Acid, Artificial Cherry Flavour (Contains FD&C Red No. 40), Purified Water, Sucralose. Energy: 420 KJ (100 Cal) per L. Contact a physician if: There is fever, or if vomiting and/or diarrhea worsens or continues beyond 24 hours. Your child has medical problems relating to kidney, heart or gastrointestinal functions, diabetes, blood pressure or shows signs of severe dehydration including symptoms of shock, is unable to drink, has increased thirst, decreased urination, sunken eyes, swelling of the feet or lower legs and/or bloody or mucus-like stools.
