How Copra's coconut water is made

Copra extracts and bottles its coconut water on site in Thailand. The water stays refrigerated from then on, and it skips high-heat pasteurization.

A large part of Copra's business is making coconut water for other companies' private labels. It also sells a growing line under its own Copra brand.

What Vita Coco plans

Vita Coco says it will invest in Copra's production capacity, keep supplying Copra's existing customers and grow the Copra brand, including internationally. Co-founder and executive chairman Michael Kirban says Copra brings "a super-premium offering."

No changes to how Copra's water is made have been announced. If you buy Copra, the ingredient list and the "keep refrigerated" label on the bottle are the places to check for any change.
