Benzaldehyde is mainly used as a flavor additive in many food products, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, personal care items, and as a combustion by-product.

Health Impact
When benzaldehyde is metabolized in our bodies, it is absorbed through our lungs and skin, and it does not commonly build-up but rater is excreted through urine. Allergic reactions are rare but may cause contact dermatitis. There is still more research necessary to conclude that benzaldehyde is harmful to humans.
