Trash Panda reads ingredient lists. It can't tell you whether a product was made on shared equipment with eggs, and it doesn't certify anything as egg-free. Use it to rule products out fast, and check the allergen statement on anything you plan to eat.
Where egg hides
Egg turns up in foods you might not expect: marshmallows, nougat, marzipan, mayonnaise, custard and imitation crab. Trash Panda flags these when you scan, along with egg-derived ingredients like ovalbumin and egg solids.
Egg-free or vegan?
Every vegan product is egg-free, but an egg-free product can still contain dairy, honey or meat. If you only need to avoid eggs, set Egg as your preference so Trash Panda doesn't rule out foods you can eat.
