Definición

A highly processed vegetable oil that is high in omega-6 fatty acids, and found in many processed foods today. Since it is composed of less stable polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fatty acids, it is sensitive to degradation by light and heat, oxidizing under these circumstances. When consuming sunflower oil, it's best to choose organic, and expeller pressed.

Sunflower oil is easily oxidized from light and heat, and typically extracted using the toxic chemical solvent hexane.
